Swing it sunny1/9/2024 ![]() In the style of Parov Stelar, Yolanda Be Cool, Waldeck or Caravan. Best for dance halls, swinging and twirling people, vintage movie scenes. Featuring clarinet, honky-tonk piano and pumping house beats. It’s not super-fantastic-amazing-blow-your-socks-off, but it suits Sunny and her family and the 1970s. Bouncy and feel-good retro chic electro swing music to add some quirkiness and vintage cool to special project. (Not that I had that problem, being the oldest in my family.) And the art fits the story. Grandpa visits and it is wonderful to see the multigenerational relationship that he has with Sunny. Sunny struggles to deal with Dale’s feelings of being abandoned. Sunny’s brother, Dale, has been sent to a boarding school where his family is hoping he can overcome his drug problems. The story carries on where the first novel ended and readers need the back story for this book to make complete sense. I would recommend reading Sunny Side Up before reading Swing It, Sunny. This is a strong follow-up to Sunny Side Up. Wonderful second book featuring Sunny and her family! I couldn’t put it down!
